Learn the fundamentals of Supreme Release Yoga (SRY) with a special emphasis on the subtle spine and the Chakras. After this program you will be eligible for advanced trainings with Kaya, including Supreme Illumination and SRY Yoga Therapy Training. This program is ideal for anyone looking to learn SRY or deepen their practice as teachers or students.

SRY Fundamentals: Supreme Spine can be taken alongside Śavāsana and Yoga Nidrā on May 16 or to fulfill the prerequesite for Supreme Release Yoga Therapy II (October 3-5).

A Different Way to Learn SRY Fundamentals

The bliss of SRY comes from the focus on releasing the spine. As physical tension resolves, energy begins to flow in alignment with dharma. Learning the SRY āsana from the viewpoint of the subtle spine offers a new bridge to the relationship between the physical and energetic bodies.

Woven into storytelling, mantra, and fundamental SRY poses will be transformative teachings on the potential profound spiritual growth that exists along the spine. You’ll leave with a new respect for the purpose of the āsana, a deeper awareness of the not-so-visible processes of energetic body, and tools to share these teachings with others (or simply expand your home practice).

Whether this is your first time studying SRY or you have taken SRY Fundamentals in the past, you’ll gain a profound new way to connect to the Self and the āsana. Join Kaya May 17 or October 2 for this transformational training.

About SRY Fundamentals: Supreme Spine

The spine is the foundation of the body. It serves as the conduit for the central nervous system and supports the functions of the entire musco-skeletal system. But this physical aspect is only one of its roles. At the subtle level, the spine is the gateway for spiritual growth. Here live the primary Chakras, three main Nadis (Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna), and the pathway for both fiery Kuṇḍaīnī Śakti and cooling Soma nectar.

While references to these aspects of the subtle spine are common among Yoga teachers, it is rare to experience the true potential of the subtle spine. To access the authentic teachings of the Chakras and Kuṇḍaīnī Śakti, in relationship to the physical body, is to unlock the mystery of being alive.

Discover the Subtle Spine through the Physical Body

This one-day program will bring the study of the subtle spine where it belongs — into the body. Through physical SRY practices you will embody awareness of the subtle processes, while resolving mental distortions and nourishing well-being. The sequences of the poses will guide the spine through a blissful form of gentle release, opening the physical spine and allowing prana to flow more freely.

Through āsana, storytelling, chanting, and blissful release of the body and spirit, you’ll gain profound teachings that are rooted in the Yoga tradition and applicable to modern life.

Join this new one-day SRY Fundamentals program and learn to map SRY āsana along the energetic body. Register today for SRY Fundamentals: Supreme Spine, held May 15 or October 2.

Take the May program alongside Śavāsana and Yoga Nidrā (May 16) or to become eligible for SRY Yoga Therapy Training (October 3-5).

Rare, Authentic Teachings on the Chakras and Kuṇḍaīnī Śakti

A simple internet search will turn up a great deal of information about the Chakras and Kuṇḍaīnī Śakti. Modern Yoga classes often reference these terms. This widely available information is alluring, but often lacks the purity of the original teachings, keeping students outside of what can be a truly transformational experience. At times, misguided or incomplete instruction can damage the subtle or physical body.

As modern yogis mature into a deeper understanding of where their practice can go — beyond pushing or forcing and into opening and releasing — study of the processes of the subtle spine offers tremendous benefits. In SRY Fundamentals: Supreme Spine, you will take in authentic teachings about the Chakras, Kuṇḍaīnī Śakti, and other elements of the energetic body that come directly from the texts and trusted teachers.
