What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the oldest living healing practice in the world, and a sister science to yoga.  Ayurveda allows one to develop deep understanding of his or her own unique nature and how to navigate through the process of healing accordingly with person-specific diet, herbs and lifestyle.  Through holistic means, Ayurveda offers a path to life-long balance and health that takes into consideration your age, environment, career, personality, spiritual tendencies, familial life and physical constitution.


Western medicine saves lives and fixes broken bones and failing organs with emergency medical procedures, surgeries, and pharmaceutical treatment of symptoms.   Naturopathic medicine uses natural herbs and medicines to intervene in illness or pain.  Ayurveda is a system that is designed to bring the individual into balance so that his or her body can have the clarity to heal itself. Ayurveda uses diet, lifestyle and herbs to bring the body to its natural state of resiliance, reliability, and bounce-back so that a disturbance to balance is taken care of by the body's own intelligent function.
